What is a duck?
Duck is the common name for many species of waterfowl in the family Anatidae. Ducks are smaller than swans and geese and have shorter necks, and they live on both fresh and salt water. In the mallard, the best-known species, the male has a glossy green head and the female is dark brown. A young duck is a duckling; the names of other baby animals are in our list of baby animal names.
It has a bill, but it is not a bird: Platy the Platypus is also called the duck-billed platypus.
Collectable for ages 14 and up: contains small parts. Colours may differ slightly from the images.
