Loti is our flexible axolotl: a 5 to 6 cm collectable, finished by hand, with segments that move independently.
What is an axolotl?
A salamander that lives in the wild only in lakes in Mexico. Unlike other salamanders, an axolotl keeps the features of a larva all its life, with gills outside its body, and still becomes an adult. It always stays in the water and rarely grows longer than 30 centimetres. In the wild the axolotl is threatened; among the animals kept in captivity, the white ones are the best known.
Can an axolotl regrow its legs?
Yes. Axolotls can regrow body parts, including legs, gills and even parts of their eyes and brain. That is why they are widely used in scientific research.
