Description
Nanuq is our flexible little polar bear: 5 to 6 cm, finished by hand and built from segments that move independently.
How does a polar bear survive the cold?
With white to yellowish fur, black skin and a thick layer of fat. The polar bear lives in and around the Arctic and hunts mainly seals, often from the sea ice. Because it depends so much on the sea, it is counted among the marine mammals. It is the largest bear species: adult males weigh 300 to 800 kilos.
Polar bear and penguin
You will never see them together in the wild: polar bears live around the North Pole, while penguins like Milo live almost only in the Southern Hemisphere. Nanuq's closest relative is the brown bear, like Bram.
Collectable for ages 14 and up: contains small parts. Colours may differ slightly from the images.
