Mei the Panda

Mei is a flexible giant panda: a 5 to 6 cm collectable that we 3D print layer by layer in The Hague. Her segments move independently, so you can bend her into a new pose.

What does a giant panda eat?

Almost nothing but bamboo. The giant panda, also called the panda bear, is a true bear and lives in the mountains of China. To hold bamboo stems it has a kind of extra thumb on its front paw: not a real finger, but an enlarged wrist bone. In 2015 an estimated 1,864 giant pandas lived in the wild.

Panda or red panda?

The names are confusing: the red panda Ember is not a bear and is more closely related to the raccoon Raff than to Mei. Both pandas do eat bamboo.

Collectable for ages 14 and up: contains small parts. Colours may differ slightly from the images.
