Description
Nola is a collectable shaped like a pig: 5 to 6 cm, finished by hand and built from segments that move along smoothly.
Why do pigs roll in mud?
To cool down. Pigs do not use sweat to get rid of heat. A layer of mud cools the skin as it dries and probably also protects against sunburn.
Since when have pigs been kept by people?
Since the Neolithic. Pigs were domesticated twice, independently: in the Near East and in China. The domestic pig is closely related to the wild boar.
The hippo looks a bit like a pig, but is related to whales: read about it at Bubba the Hippo.
Collectable for ages 14 and up: contains small parts. Colours may differ slightly from the images.
